Goals & Scope of Work
- Transporting super-sized and super-heavy turbine blades (62 m), 135-ton turbine cluster (nacelle) and separate tower (total weight 2,100 tons)
- Providing 8-axle tractors, hydraulic multi-axle trailers and crawler cranes for loading, unloading and assembling
- Surveying the route of more than 600 km from Cam Ranh port to the foot of Chu Yang Sin mountain
- Requesting special circulation permits, coordinating with local authorities
Key Challenges
- Super-long size: 62 m long turbine blades, difficult to navigate narrow turns, weak bridges on many sections of the road.
- Mountainous terrain: up to 1,200 m high, steep and bumpy roads, requiring continuous safety monitoring.
- Complicated administrative procedures: requesting traffic permits, coordinating traffic through 3 provinces (Khanh Hoa - Phu Yen - Dak Lak).
- Urgent time: the entire chain must be completed within 60 days to meet the turbine installation schedule.
Solutions & Deployment
- Survey & 3D Simulation: Identify narrow points, weak bridges; map the optimal route to avoid sensitive residential areas.
- Segmentation plan: Turbine blades are transported in 3-piece clusters, assembled at the foot of the project.
- Specialized equipment:
- 8-axle tractor (200-ton capacity)
- Hydraulic multi-axle trailer extending to 70 m
- 300-ton crawler crane for lifting and lowering
