Thanh Thang Cement Plant Project
PPL is responsible for receiving, transporting, and delivering equipment and machinery for the construction of the Thanh Thang Cement Plant through a combined sea, river, and road transport chain.
Goals & Scope of Work
- Goods received at Hai Phong port.
- Transported by barge to Ha Nam river port.
- Transported by road from the river port to the construction site.
- Completed handling of 5 shipments with a total volume of 30,000 ft.
Key Challenges
- Large volume of cargo, many bulky pieces of equipment.
- Multimodal coordination (sea – river – land) requires tight schedule control.
- High safety standards are required when loading, unloading, and moving heavy equipment.
Solutions & Deployment
- Arrange for specialized, high-capacity barges for the river route.
- Use a suitable fleet of trucks and trailers to transport equipment to the construction site.
- Organize and manage operations on a shipment-by-shipment basis to ensure progress and safety.
- Coordinate closely with the port and the investor throughout the process.
