Conducted inspections of renewable power projects in the past 10 years

07.03.2022

Mr. Le Sy Bay - Deputy Inspector General of the Government has just signed a decision to inspect wind and solar power projects from 2011 to 2021.

The inspection process will take place in 85 days, focusing on the observance of policies and laws in the management, implementation of planning and construction investment of these power projects and works. When necessary, the relevant contents can be inspected before or after the inspection period.

The inspected projects are part of the national electricity development plan for the period 2011-2020, with a vision to 2030 (power planning VII) and the adjusted electricity master plan VII.

The above regulation has also been sent to the People's Committees of Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc, Bac Lieu and Dak Nong provinces. These are the localities where there has been a strong development of the renewable energy industry, especially solar power, rooftop solar power, wind power...

The recent development and planning of many renewable energy projects, especially solar power and rooftop solar power, has caused serious overload for the power transmission system. This leads to many solar power plants having to cut their generating capacity, causing damage to investors and reducing the development motivation of this type of energy.

Previously, in 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade also inspected solar power projects; rooftop solar power in 10 localities was reflected in hot development. The final results have not been announced, but according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, during the inspection process in some localities, many mistakes were also discovered in the development of rooftop solar power.

At a press conference in January, the leader of the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy (Ministry of Industry and Trade) said that by the end of 2021, the total installed capacity of renewable energy sources (solar power, wind power, electricity) rooftop solar) reached 20,670 MW, accounting for 27% of the total installed capacity of the whole system and an increase of 3,420 MW compared to 2020.
