Kasawari Project
Three oversized and overweight Membrane Skids, each weighing 236 tons and measuring 20m x 11.49m x 7.1m, were transported from the Vina Offshore factory to Dong Xuyen port for launching onto a barge.
Goals & Scope of Work
- Absolutely safe transportation, no scratches on the goods.
- Completion on schedule: June 1st, 2021 – June 6th, 2021.
- Arrangement of vehicles, route survey, and safe loading onto barge.
Key Challenges
- Extremely large in weight and size (236 tons/package; 20m long).
- The route is only 1 km long but has many curves, trees, and power lines.
- Strict lifting and transportation technical requirements.
- Precise tidal timing must be calculated for load-out.
Solutions & Deployment
- Study technical drawings and conduct detailed site surveys.
- Deploy a 24-axle SPMT, forklifts, cranes, and specialized barges.
- Remove obstacles before transportation.
- Coordinate transportation according to tidal conditions to ensure safe load-out.
- Organize dedicated personnel to supervise the entire process.
